Ehyalen is a small village on the northern frontier. Despite its remote location, it is a popular destination for adventurers, travelers, and merchants. This is primarily because of the unique opportunities that the untamed land provides. There is also a concerted effort by King Aldrun to expand to the northern frontier.

Closing a sinkhole into the Underdark

A sinkhole opened in Ehyalen's town square right before the Gruusden Festival. Multiple curious Troglodytes emerged at night and battled with the town guard. For over a week, the hole remained open, but under heavy guard until a valiant group of adventurers went below with explosives in a quest to collapse the tunnel. They succeeded and narrowly escaped both the explosive and a large pursuing monster. Since the tunnels collapse, no denizens from the Underdark have emerged, but the hole remains under strict supervision until they are finished filling it in.

Exploring Lord Halfven's tomb

For many years an ancient and haunted amphitheater teased the locals imagination. Strange whispers scared people away and, a door that refused to open, stumped even the brightest of adventurers, but time eventually brought forth a group that challenged the ghosts and opened the door to venture within. Inside they discovered Lord Halfven's lost tomb. When they approached his hallowed throne, he rose and demanded a blood sacrifice from the intruders. Not knowing what he wanted, he summoned minions and fought the party. They very nearly died, but managed some critical rolls at the end to save their lives and finish the fight. Lord Halfven was permanently laid to rest and his long lost items were recovered.

Dealing with the Red Beard Gang

The "Red Beard Gang", as they're known among the locals, took up residence in Ehyalen during the Gruusden Festival. They almost immediately began causing problems and nearly hijacked Narvi's tavern. Fortunately, multiple groups of brave adventurers challenged the gang and expelled them from town. However, the victory wouldn't last as they continued to cause trouble around the nearby region. Finally, a fourth group forced them back into their mountain retreat while a fifth group raided it and killed the remaining gang members including their leader. Along with the spoils of securing the fortress, the group also rescued 3 hostages from Bar'den.
